Hasn’t happened yet but I’m sure at some point Mrs Wease will tire of me. I’m old, overweight, not particularly attractive, lazy and spend way too much time not paying attention to her.

I got divorced. It was kind of a pain in the ass but not too terrible since we didn’t have kids or any major jointly owned property. All in all I would recommend it.

This always fascinates me. Did you have a real wedding again? I can’t imagine my marriage ending in divorce and then asking people to come to my next wedding. If I was in a wedding party for a friend whose marriage ended in divorce and he asked me to be in his next one, I’d probably decline. It feels like, barring death, something everyone should only get to make a big deal of one time. Then again, maybe it was your second wife’s first marriage, and she deserves the fairytale like everyone else. I don’t know. I struggle with social anxiety, and I have a hard time thinking of a scenario I’d hate more than a second wedding.

If something ever does happen and I’m not with Mrs Wease any more, I will never get married again. It’s not because she’s ruined the whole institution for me or anything, but I just have no desire to do it again.

We broke up in April of 2007, after being a couple since 2000.
The process of the divorce: we went to an office together, in June or July of 2007. Signed a separation paper. They told us we need to live at least one year apart, then file again. Then (I think it was) in August of 2008, I got a letter in the post, saying that she had filed the final letter, and that we were officially divorced.
She did go to my father’s funeral in 2009, and we had a dinner and saw a movie at the cinema in October of 2009. Since then we’ve only had limited contact.
I got married for a second time (to someone else) in 2020, and we’re still happily married.
What led to the divorce?
We both agreed that we had seven good years together. After the breakup she would explain that she loved me like family, but was no longer in love at the end. She didn’t tell me when we were together though, and the end really started when she fell for someone else in January of 2007. I think I had an idea about it, but was in denial. Then in late February she said she wanted to stay together, but would it be ok to date others. I did not agree. In March her mother stayed with us the full month, which stalled the whole end. In April I found out she had been cheating since January, and (while she was the catalyst for the whole ending), I ended it that same day.

The main intention was not to say that it wasn’t a guy, but that it wasn’t the same woman. I can change it to «another person» or to «someone else».

I can’t believe Jorge just accused Anders of being a homophobe.
