I really want to, but it doesn’t look like any screenings around here match up with my schedule. I did just watch Shin Godzilla and liked it a lot, though.

Yeah. I saw it on the weekend and then dragged my parents to see it during the week. They both really enjoyed it.

It's not just a great monster movie, it's a great movie.

I much preferred it to Shin Godzilla. That movie was fine, but I found it too bureaucratic and goofy.

It's a better American popcorn movie than any actual American had managed to shit out recently, for reasons you don't want to hear.

My dad, the old grumpy conservative, grumbled when I told him how good it was but was subtitled. It took some convincing, and after I told him it took place right after WWII, he was in. I forgot to tell him it didn't involve the Americans at all.

He still loved it.

Grumpy old conservative liked a good movie regardless of the nationality of the actors involved? i hope you learned an important lesson today.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Talking to Mrs and Youngest about seeing it today. Told them it was subtitled and they both said no. Not going. Even tho Youngest doesn’t watch ANYTHING at home without subtitles on she doesn’t want to see this movie because it’s subtitled.

I may just go by myself.

Do it. It's absolutely worth seeing in the theater.

Tell them you were mistaken re: the subtitles and that the movie is, in fact, in American.
