At least it's not beige

I make a green smoothie all the time, but when I add blueberries it turns perfectly 50% gray. I love it.

"Potetball (also known as ball, klubb, kumle, komle, kompe, raspeball) is a traditional Norwegian potato dumpling.

The main ingredient is peeled potatoes, which are grated or ground up and mixed with flour, usually Barley or wheat, to make the balls stick together. Depending on the proportion of potato pulp and different types of flour, the product will have a different taste and texture.

The dish is more common in the southern region (Sørlandet) where "kompe" is the most common name, western region (Vestlandet) where the terms "raspeball", "komle", and "potetball" are the most used and middle region (Trøndelag) where it is nearly always called "klubb".

There are a great variety of regional variations to the dish and the condiments vary locally. They may include salted and boiled pork or lamb meat, bacon, sausages, melted butter, boiled carrots, mashed or cooked rutabaga, sour cream, kefir or soured milk, cured meat, brown cheese sauce and even boiled potatoes."

I love it. Eat it seldom, maybe once a year, and haven't eaten it homemade at home for years now.

I ideally eat it with some bacon, a lamb rib, a pork sausage, cooked rutabaga, a potato, and some sugar on top of the potato dumpling (called potetball in my hometown), so obviously it's quite a heavy meal. Still worth it once a year.

The strangest thing about it, is that is hardly doesn't exist at all in the north or the east (Oslo region ++), and that in the central region, western region and southern region, it has different names. I've lived in Oslo for 18 years now, and it's nearly impossible to find a quality version here, although a tv-dinner version is sold in most major food shops. But it's far from the homemade version in quality, so just barely worth it once in a blue moon.

I had both white and black pudding yesterday. If you combined them it would be grey.

I’m new here. But I had to chime in because I’ve recently gotten hooked on organic goat whey protein. I was kind of skeptical at first because, yeah, grey food doesn’t exactly scream "delicious," but it actually turned out to be super smooth and blends into smoothies really well! I started using it after trying it on a whim, and it’s become my go-to post-workout snack. It has this subtle, earthy taste that I really like, plus it's packed with protein. Definitely not the most exciting food in terms of color, but it gets the job done! Anyone else here into the less flashy protein powders?
