Does anyone still believe in this? Seems like this was how the western world behaved for generations post WWII and then sort of gave up on it in the 10-15 years.

I had a great conversation yesterday for an hour with a guy that I fundamentally disagree with on a lot of things.

Plus, I live in a very blue area and have lots of friends that lean libtard. It is what it is.

Yeah, of course i can co exist. I also find it very rewarding to listen and talk about different views on stuff.

I tried to meet up with Bammer a couple of times but he hates libtards so it never worked out. So, he's lying.

Also i have to deal with Trag everyday. My brother in law is a marine from rural illinois who voted for Trum* the first time around. We get into heavy discussions all the time and he's the best.

I’m in TN. I have to. Most of my family and a good portion of Mrs Wease’s family are full-on MAGA. I’ve got a cousin that paints his barn (it’s a huge fucking barn) periodically to reflect whatever motto MAGA has embraced at that time.

So, co-exist? Yes. Engage in thoughtful, provoking political conversation? No.

To answer the OP I don't see people in terms of sides and I have several friends I disagree with on a number of issues all across the political spectrum. There are extremes I won't break bread with for reasons of moral conscience (think: actual nazis) but many of my friends and family are people I love with whom I disagree politically.

How you treat others is I think something I'll judge you on more harshly. If we disagree on the tenets of socialized education, OK. But if we're out and you are cruel to waitstaff I'm probably not hitting you up for a hang any time soon
