I don't give any song 5 stars on early listens, but I have high hopes for this one

This one grabbed me on the 2nd listen
Great build on this one from the breezy beach vibe beginning to a good rocking middle
Love the outro bit too which reminded me of footsteps

I love this song and Ed sounds great on it. Even when he's doing his breathy thing. It sounds so good when his dips down to his low register. Those classic soaring Eddie Vedder howls at the end are executed nicely.

Easily the best closer since All or None.

Another early favourite. Starts out nice and peaceful, but then it morphs into another song entirely. Probably the song to illustrate how Ed's vocals can soar and make a song epic.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

This was not what I was expecting at all. Yes,there are some prior songs you could reference to here but this mostly feels like new territory for the band. I don't recall catching the "let us not fade" part, which is probably a good sign. That means it didn't stick out like a sore thumb, like the corny "share the light, can't hold us down"... I think for the most part we evaded most of Ed's cringe moments on this album. Those are all packed into (and contained within) Something Special, haha!

This shits all over river cross and retrograde and what not.
So glad they had snapped out of it.
We’ve got a lot to thank Watt for. He was able to grab them by their collars and give a good reinvigorating shake, it seems.

the tastefulness of the keys on this song is at "Black" levels for me, just so warm, inviting, lush

The outro of this really grabbed me today
Just beautiful and ends on that almost Footsteps/ Hard to Imagine acoustic riff

Great closing song
Best closer since All or None
