A statement about PJ tickets

We are EstupidaFregona.net, a group of Pearl Jam fans and members of the Ten Club, who since 1999 have been meeting on social networks, concerts and events related to the band and have ended up forming a great community of which we are very proud.
We feel the need to write this letter in response to the situation experienced in the last few hours after the band’s announcement of its concert tour in 2024.
Since Pearl Jam’s last visit in 2018 to the same Palau Sant Jordi for this year’s concerts, the final price of tickets has increased by 69%, from €98 to €165. To put it in context, salaries in this same period has risen 8%.
Until yesterday, all the tour announcements we had experienced had been great moments of excitement, filled with nerves and plans to meet again with old and new friends in different cities around the world to see the band that unites us. And the feeling today is completely different.
Being aware that the current global economic situation can influence the price of tickets, we still believe that the band has great decision-making power on this matter. And, knowing its values, we can’t understand that Pearl Jam has become a luxury good reserved for a privileged few.

The tickets do seem expensive in 2024.

When I looked at ten club Vancouver tickets I think they were around 200 bucks CAD. Was also looking at Springsteen tickets in Canada and while he does have cheaper uppers (like 3rd level) a standard decent ticket will run you 300 to 400. I saw Metallica in Montreal last year and that one was 265 tax in for lower bowl at a stadium.
I’m OK with the prices. I do think the uppers should be priced cheaper but if it keeps the lower bowl prices cheaper I say fair play. Ticket prices suck today but I don’t think this is anything beyond market unfortunately.

Europeans are not like Americans when it comes to price inelasticity

Funny that they think Pearl Jam’s values include not price gouging.

It ain't the prices, bros. It's the fact that all popular shows - lower bowl tickets are no longer fan club.
Get ready to be seated upper deck

yeah this was a bit frustrating to see for MSG ... the seated sections on the sides are way in the back ... those seats are pretty far away from the stage
i normally don't go in for GA but did click for that variant this time ... would rather stand in the back of GA and credit card ppl in front of me than sit a half mile away

Between the prices and the hassle of ordering tickets, I am pretty sure my days of going to these arena/stadium-type shows are over. It’s reached a point where the experience just isn’t worth the cost to me.
I hope your open letter finds its way to the right person.

Like I said in the other thread, I registered for the two Boston shows but I just have been completely turned off about all of this, I haven’t done it yet but I’m pretty sure I’m cancelling the request.
Paying 350/700 for seats in the balcony is crazy, no matter how many other bands are doing it. I don’t think I’d enjoy the shows like I always have because I’ll feel like I’ve been taken advantage of.

This band has so jumped the shark. The best sections at MSG are not even available for Fan Club members. Will all be platinum tickets and/or corporate/and/or MSG season pass holders.

It's so "un pearl jam" to do this. I am baffled.
And no, I'm not going to any of the shows.

Really brings new meaning to This Is Not For You.
By This they mean any of the premium lower bowl tickets near the stage.

It's baffling. Or maybe not anymore.
I'm generally fine with rising ticket costs. Fine, that's life shit gets more expensive and they're more than welcome to make more money.
But the searing thing? Premium? Putting fan club in upper deck instead? F that.
