Any one of these songs could win this overstuffed bracket, easily the toughest competition in the whole tournament. All are five star songs. I could wax rhapsodic about any and all of them, but for years now Jeremy has been the one of these three I am mostly likely to seek out, and it deserves a win. As devastating as the outro to Black is, I think Jeremy matches it in intensity, and exceeds it in its emotional complexity.

Plus the video is still amazing.

Indifference is a masterpiece of a song, and while it points the way to so many future atmospheric compositions they may never have done it better than they do here. It's just a touch below these other two.

Vote for Jeremy. But they are all winners. This is gonna fuck up the stats.

It was hard not to reset the RNG, but this tournament has integrity, damn it!

I think we often forget just how great Jeremy is. That bass line might topple Mike’s Black solo. I am voting Jeff here.

Jeremy MTV Awards 1992 may just be their pinnacle.

Jeff doesn’t think so, but I believe Jeremy is his finest hour.

I'm really surprised by how well Jeremy has aged over time. For all the Ten songs that I've heard a million times by now... only Jeremy and Deep still feel fresh and exciting, like I'm still discovering new things about them.

This bracket is disgustingly unfair. All three are all time greats.

But Black is quite possibly the best song Pearl Jam has ever written. Period.

The 1992 MTV unplugged version is the single greatest vocal performance of Eddie of any song from any era. Watch and listen to it again to remember what it’s like when Eddie channels the intensity of a thousand suns into his performance. Have you seen how many stunned reaction videos on YouTube there are from vocal coaches, producers, and all kinds of people?

If you could only listen to one of these songs for the rest of your life, which would it be? Black is the most consistently beautiful and universal in its theme.

Black is the choice.

This choice claws at my soul, but, the "we belong together" tag shook me to my core in '92, and it still shatters me today
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…
