I've heard Evenflow so many times that I can't objectively rate it. I'd honestly be fine never hearing it again. Vote for Daughter.

I hear you, Tommy, but I can say the same thing about Daughter, and the fact that I've heard Even Flow so many hundreds upon hundreds of times doesn't change the fact that it's still a defining moment in the catalog - a perfect encapsulation of everything early Pearl Jam did so well.

I do appreciate how much both of these songs celebrate the humanity of people who otherwise feel (or are) discarded.

Vote is for Even Flow

ugh, they've massacred Even Flow so many times live but when it's got the original slow groove it slaps

but it's Daughter for me; when I first heard Dave A. and the boys apply the same nuanced funk to an acoustic song it blew my tiny mind; the hi-hat work! the angular strumming! rad

Tough one, but Daughter has more lasting power.

This was a scrap, but, Daughter emerged from the darkened alleyway

I also went with Daughter here. Even Flow suffers from being played at too many shows maybe, and it’s a much better song than even I give it credit for, it Daughter is probably one of a handful of tracks that had that familiar yet fresh feel that turned me into a huge fan of this band back in 1993.

Both deserve to win. Both all time classics. But I have to go with Even Flow, even though, these days I spin Daughter more often.

Even Flow might just be the single best song of the 90s.

the best ever live Even Flow remains Uniondale 03. Everyone was on fire. But the only live issue with Even Flow I've ever really had are the 05 drum solos

I eel the same way about both of these songs, particularly when hearing them live. But when I unexpectedly hear the radio single version of Even Flow with Eddie just growling and then the riff kicking in Even Flow still gets me in a way Daughter doesn't.

So, Even Flow.

And guess which two songs the argument is between?

But you’ve said IMT is the best song ever. How can EF be the best song of the 90s if IMT is the best song ever?

Even Flow "might just be." In other words, I think 9 days out of 10, I prefer In My Tree. But then there's that one day when someone could probably make an argument good enough to convince me that I'm wrong and that the correct answer is Even Flow.

I know it would make LV's head explode, but I think it might just be possible that Even Flow is the better song, even though I prefer In My Tree.
