In Hiding is the rare (for me) songs where Eddie's lyrics knock the song down a few half stars. I really think the verses are weak. Great pre-chorus, thougb.
There was a period where I, like many, tried to convince myself that evacuation is a pretty good song. It's a phase.
NAIS, on the other hand, is a great song

evacuation. its the most creative, fun to play along to, and i enjoy the many different ways one can shout evacuation.

NAIS is my favourite song. And I just know you guys are going to fuck it over.

NAIS is just plain boring. An absolute chore of a song and the bottom of the Pearl Jam barrel.

These are all good songs that I could vote for in a lot of matches. "Nothing As It Seems" is a master class of atmospherics and tension. "In Hiding" is a soaring anthem about surf(l)acing from darkness into a new perspective of reframing. "Evacuation" is a fantastic psychedelic rocker that showcases some of the best aspects of Matt's writing. Right now, "Evacuation" is the one that most interests me, so it's where I'm voting.

This is one of those rare occasions when Stip is absolutely wrong (i.e. vote for In Hiding because it’s one of the best anthems they’ve ever written).

Nothing As It Seems folks. I can still vividly recall mind fully blown the first time I heard this on the bootleg to the 1999 Bridge School show. I still love it every time I hear it.

This time I have to vote for Eddie's soaring vocals (In Hiding).

I think a few years ago I would have opted for In Hiding, but NAIS has become an even more classic song for me (and I already regarded it pretty highly). Evacuation is fantastic, but a step below the other two tracks.

This one is fucking brutal... I'm going with In Hiding for now. But I'll probably go back and forth between it and NAIS until voting is closed.

I like Evacuation more these days than I have in the past.
For me, NAIS is sort of the inverse of Insignificance: a song that absolutely transports me when I hear it live (especially outdoors) but which I've realized doesn't achieve that same power in its studio form.
In Hiding is spectacular everywhere and in every way.

I don't think in Hiding has ever sounded great live. The lack of piano is a real deal breaker for me (especially when lazy ass Boom is in the band) The song sounds thin without it.
