Long road was a former childhood friend’s favorite song. We played it at his funeral when he died in an accident at 16. Yeah this one is definitely going to break my heart one way or another.

This is almost unfair, two songs that build wonderfully and are exactly what I want from a slower song from Pearl Jam. Long Road hits me harder as a whole song, even if the last chorus on Hard to Imagine is one of those truly cathartic Pearl Jam moments.

Pearl Jam were such better songwriters before they knew how to write songs.
