This was great. It's easy to take for granted how far special effects have come -- they are absolutely seamless with reality here. That, plus actual characters you care about, make this so much more impactful than something like Avatar.
I'm not super in love with the post-climax ending but the rest of the movie more than makes up for it. Another one is inevitable.

I'm rewatching Rise right now. I'll probably watch them all and then go see the new one.

Beautiful movie. Lots of callbacks to the very first movie. The CGI of the apes is breathtaking. Supposed to be the first in a new trilogy. Ideas on where the next one would go, but hell, it up in the air.

Despite this being the only movie of 2024 I’m really looking forward to, I haven’t seen it yet nor do I think I will get a chance to soon. But Wease, I feel like we seem to agree on almost everything we both post about so I’m even more excited to see this.

I have just learned the screenwriter of this movie wrote the Avatar sequels.

This is on Hulu now so I watched it during a slow work morning today. The first act was a little slow, but still a great visual movie and I enjoyed it. I didn't think we'd get this after the ending of the Woody Harrelson one, but now with this ending, I kind of hope they do another one in this timeline.
