Raise your hands if you love Doctor Who!

I've read a novel a day for the past three days, - all stories with the tenth doctor but will move on to some of the older ones after. I recently saw the first episode but can't make my mind up about William Heartnell yet (although respect should be given nonetheless) And I have scrapped the pictures of my children as my phone wallpaper and replaced with a picture of a cyberman. 8-)

Then I considered spending £600 on figurines from a magazine but that idea didn't last very long. It's probably the only time I wished I were rich.

I asked about this show here a couple months ago and I received no response. It always looked intriguing. You let me know how it is.

*sits with Kelly*

I've loved it since I was a kid, when I found Tom Baker both terrifying and amazing. I don't get caught up in canon, but I'm definitely a fan.

I always think I remember Tom Baker's reign, which is odd since it ended in '81 and I was a year old. There must have been a lot of re-runs. But somehow I was always more fond of him than the blonde guy and Sylvester McCoy who I remember better. :?:

You wouldn't like it. It would make you think too much about your own immortality.

Or mortality. Don't mean to get your hopes up. :-)

I have only watched from the reboot forward but i really enjoy it. It can be a little too silly for my taste at times, but when it is good it is always good.

amy pond will always be my fav companion. I will not confirm or deny it is beause she is a red head :|

Good man. Or woman. (Sorry, not sure if you're a man or woman)

I'm reading a story about the doctor and Leela at the moment. She seems to be a hidden gem. A warrior that will no doubt save a few lives including the doctor's.

I really liked the chemistry between her and Matt. Her attitudinal petulance was the perfect match for his 'Doctor as equal parts grandfatherly protector and confused child.' And other than a few moments like the Family of Blood, I think the whole Silence story arc was the best this show has been (tragically followed by some of the worst).

The new girl was good in her pre-debut episodes, but they've been trying to hard to bring sexual tension back into the show now that she's a regular. It doesn't work, and it leaves her feeling kind of personality-less. Looking forward to that dying when the new guy starts.

I suspect there will be more mush in the next series with River Song. Someone suggested that they had gone back to an older actor as the the Doctor for that reason. And some people think Clara is their daughter! But I don't know.

So (nerd hat displayed proudly) what are we hoping for the 50th and 11's regeneration? I'm hoping some Time War for the former and a proper send off for the latter. Matt is pretty much my Doctor, so it'll be sad to see him go :(

River actually played off him pretty well, I thought, but it had almost an old married couple vibe.

I dunno. Moffat's been solid at setting things up in an interesting way and absolute shit at giving them a proper resolution. I'll just be happy if he doesn't fuck it up completely. I'm also nervous about the return of Sherlock for the very same reason.

I love Amy. And Rory. Clara mostly sets my teeth on edge.

Me and my 8 year old are still practically in mourning for Matt. We're excited to see what Peter brings to the show, but I think we'll miss Matt for a little while.

Also, I'm about to spend a hideous amount of money on Doctor Who action figures for the boys 9th birthday. He wants the Doctor, Amy, a TARDIS and a Dalek

We're all pretty down about him leaving, too, though if the writing next season isn't any better than this last one he made the right move.

I remember when David left the show and all through the first 2/3 of Matt's first episode it was....disappointment. Dislike. Frustration. But in the last third you started to "get" this version of the character...even if they left a little of Nine's underlying danger that would dissipate later on. I'm expecting to need some time to decide what I think of the next one.
