Remember, if you're a rich white guy in America laws don't matter. Fuck this cunt.

this aspect seemed a little sus
Klinghoffer could be seen exiting a large SUV at the courthouse, accompanied by a small entourage of poetry slam enthusiasts, performing an acapella rendition of the Cypress Hill anthem 'How I Could Just Kill A Man'

Not admissible.
Failure to yield good enough.

This is my favorite part of the original article:
JK ultimately left the RHCP and has been a touring member for Pearl Jam and Jane's Addiction ... and he's said to be on tour with Pearl Jam right now.
As if it is some unsubstantiated urban legend, as opposed to some highly publicized, easily verifiable thing.

i wonder if his defense was that his giant droopy pants clogged the instruments and impeded his ability to brake on time

I get why we're making jokes about this case but this made me very sad
“I miss my dad,” Sanchez’s daughter, Ashley Sanchez, said after the hearing. “We’re seeking justice here. I don’t know why Josh is getting just a misdemeanor. It’s not okay. My father was a very great father.”

Which leads me to believe that he fully expects to walk away from this free-and-clear.
The CT laws look very similar (Vehicular Homicide looks identical) to CA though I thought they were listed in this thread so may be incorrect there going from memory. If he were on his phone that would be Misconduct with a MV at the least in my eyes given the tough distracted driving regulations, etc. going on here but the state would have come with that first I would expect.

I agree, super sad all around.
I may not understand the charges but it seems like he is pretty clearly guilty, regardless of whether or not he was on his phone. It was broad daylight and he didn’t slow down — either he was distracted by his phone or something else, or his vehicle has an insane blind spot. It seems like pleading not guilty could really hurt him, or is the charge as it stands contingent upon him being on his phone?

Man, that's crazy.
He'd be likely serving jail time over here.
What a terrible guy.

I probably should've read the link first, I'm glad to hear both the criminal and civil cases are still proceeding.
