Take the word hate with a grain of salt. A band you don’t like is enough.

This is where Smashing Pumpkins go for me. Not a fan at all, but Today and 1979 are incredible.

"Rhythm of My Heart" by Rod Stewart
"And So It Goes" and "Leningrad" by Billy Joel
The Unplugged version of "Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out" by Eric Clapton
"Still Into You" by Paramore
These artists are less "hate" and more "just not really a fan of," but I do really love these songs.

There is a sub-category here of hits I like by bands/artists I otherwise have no opinion of, mainly due to my lack of intent to explore their work beyond said hits.
"High Enough" by Damn Yankees
"The Living Years" by Mike and the Mechanics
"Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie

Hate is a strong word. Let's go with dislike.
Where the Streets Have No Name - U2
I'm On Fire - Bruce Springsteen

hmm good question... I think yes, but not in the way that you mean. I didn't hear the lyrics and suddenly think "hey MY kid could fall out the window some day, life is precious, you got me Clapton!"
More like, as I get older and more domesticated, I find more to enjoy in laid-back, mellow songs that don't try to wow me with their energetic or dramatic flexing.
Right, right.
