This is a thread to talk about line cooks and what it's like working with them.

Yesterday I learned that one of my line cooks went home with a pen we had laying around the restaurant. Unfortunately for him, the pen had the name of a local hotel printed on it and his wife got pretty upset with him about it. Must have thought he was stepping out or something. Weird conclusion to jump to, I'd think, but then again...line cooks.

what's your favorite thing that he makes in the kitchen?

I can't eat the menu anymore. I'm worn out. Though one of the line cooks will make arroz con leche for our staff on slow nights and that's always a winner. I add a little cocoa powder and cinnamon to mine.

You can always tell which line cook got there early based on the kitchen music. There's a wide variety of tastes going on, but I always love it when this one guy gets the aux cord because I know eventually I'm going to hear some Dio.
