Worst movie of 2024

Lots of contenders. Plenty of bombs, but not all were that terrible. Megalopolis? Joker 2? Madame Web? Borderlands? Something that made more money but sucked?

I think Argylle was one of the worst things I watched.

I haven't seen anything yet that was so bad that it hurt my feelings, but there are a few charmless snooze-fests currently contending for the title. Right now I'd give it to Joker 2

I think technically, philosophically, aesthetically, and as a key piece of evidence in the case against us as a culture, Deadpool/Wolverine set a new standard of bad

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I don't see how this is relevant given that the other Deadool movies didn't come out in 2024... the year this thread is about

Oh that's right, I did say that. So my answer is the latest Deadpool movie is worse than the already very bad original Deadpool by being an intensified version of it. There's just a lot more of everything that sucked.

I didn't post about it, probably due to the deep shame of having contributed to its global box office cume, but I went to see It Ends With Us and it really was unbelievably terrible

Basically I hate the Reynolds/Lively household

I can't remember if I've seen anything this year that truly enraged me. Joker 2 probably would, but I'm probably not gonna see that one.

Madame Web almost qualifies as so bad it's good, but instead of one guy's misguided vision, it feels like it was picked over by a dozen studio execs. As it is, it's just kind of forgettably bad.

People will probably disagree, but I feel like 2023 was filled with movies that received praise, and 2024 has been the opposite.

Once I get around to watching a large number of movies from both, I suspect the difference between how I rank the movies, will be small. There will be poor movies, lots of movies in between, and some great movies from each year. However, my initial reaction to how the years were perceived publically, will likely remain the same.

We've still got a lot of year to go, more movies to praise shall be released

I make a point of only watching good movies, so I'm of no use here.

Lord knows I'm usually the positive guy who only looks on the bright side, but this was a very bad year for movie films.

I've hardly seen any movies at the theater this year because they've mostly been bad and I kinda hate going now because people are constantly talking and looking at their phones.

If I had to guess I would say Deadpool 3 because the previous two were awful and Ryan Reynolds is one of the least funny people on the planet.

Hopefully you are right. Would love to hear about a lot of great movies being released.
