Yeah, it’s a theater and by far the smallest venue of the tour. I tried to get tickets for the second show, being a Saturday, but got skunked.Bi_3 wrote:Took a look at this arena and whoa. I probably would have done this over Raleigh if I had done my due diligence beforehand

Are we the only RMers attending this one?:lol:knee tunes wrote:Me too!4/5 wrote:GA!
I feel like I’m in the minority here but the folks around me in GA last night agreed, the sound in GA leaves a lot to be desired. Because they didn’t aim the highs down at us, all we got was bass and mids, terrible sound engineering. You have Jeff, stone and Ed’s voice all low in the mix, and no treble whatsoever. We couldn’t even hear the lyrics until Ed’s range got above the lows in the mix, half of most songs he was drowned out, and most of stones guitar work was muddy and just blended in with the rest of the lows. Very bad sound- we were all about 10-15 feet dead center stage.
Something tells me they engineered their sound check to the seats about 30 feet off the floor, where I’m guessing the sound was superb.
Don’t take away from my experience, which was a good one overall, but it was startlingly poor, we could barely make out the riffs in wishlist- the guy from Argentina next to me actually thought they skipped the parts because we couldn’t hear the high notes. I had to point at Mike and say, “no, he’s playing it now, you can see him playing with the volume dial on his strat”

How close were you ? Do people fight for the back row ? Lol that's what I want I figure there's more room back thereAndySlash wrote:i’d agree sound wasn’t dialed in well in the ga space i was in on stone’s side. separation was mostly good, but i felt ed was definitely harder to hear. my experience wasn’t as bad as the one described above, though, and there does seem to be a few positive comments from people that stayed farther back.
the best thing was the ga was not oversold - we had a good amount of personal space to groove and not bump into people constantly. i am hoping it stays that way for saturday. probably the most enjoyable ga experience i’ve ever had.
probably 3/4 back, there was plenty of room to move through people if you were doing a beer or bathroom run. people did line the back wall so that “rail” was occupied as far as i could see but there was ample space everywhere back there if you weren’t needing to lean on something. i’d imagine if you got there by the time the opener was ending you could find an open back wall spot pretty easily.knee tunes wrote:How close were you ? Oh wow. Looked much smaller in the pics.Kalevi wrote:Ga was at least 50 rows according to my estimate
