New season of Fixer to Fabulous just started. Love it. Anyone else here watch it and want to share some pretty strong opinions on the cool improvements and how they fucked it all up?

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Goddamn. We had to go to her fucking bakery on our family trip to Texas a few years back.

Haha my wife stopped there on a work trip several years ago. Didn’t ask how the food was, just how much shiplap there was.

Anyone watch Grand Designs out of the UK? I love Kevin and his layers of warmth.

We watched this for the first few seasons. The shiplap Spike mentioned was an issue. We stopped around the time they got their own section of Target. Not because of that. Here is what it was for me: it felt like Jo didn’t even like Chip. I get it. I do. That guy. But she just became too unlikable for me to watch.

How was it?
Over attended, overpriced and not even the least bit tasty. Which was the reaction from most patrons we overheard.

I’m not convinced they even live together. I think they stay together for the appearance and marketing. She clearly hates him as much as i do

My cousin was on This Old House a few months back and for people of my mother’s generation this is the greatest accomplishment anyone can achieve. She talked about it on the family text thread for like 2 weeks.

What I hate about them is that the math never adds up. Based on inputs and labor, my wife says they’re regularly flipping houses at a loss. All the revenue comes from ads. Probably why wease’s pastries sucked.
got their ass.

Adjacent to the thread topic, Flea Market Flip is a good binge watch.
