The film features returning cast members Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, and Lewis Tan as Cole Young. Karl Urban joins as Johnny Cage, a fan-favorite character absent from the first film.
New additions include Tati Gabrielle as Jade and Adeline Rudolph as Kitana. Hiroyuki Sanada reprises his role as Scorpion, while Tadanobu Asano returns as Raiden.
Meanwhile, Martyn Ford joins as Shao Kahn, setting the stage for an even more epic showdown between Earthrealm and Outworld.

it has been a while since i watched any of them but i seem to recall they really leaned into the silliness of it all with cage and kang trying to believe it all was a wonderful experience

Kids are stupid. He is so fucking lame. Not even Keith Urban can save that character.

I like when an otherwise serious and edgy property can inject a bit of humour, I just hope it doesn't detract from the darkness of it all
I'm OK with no tournament so far, I like the director's reported vision of building up to some tournament fighting in the third movie
