I love Pearl Jam so much that listening to them makes me feel strong emotions. What emotions does their music make you feel? Here are my top ten:
Wistful
Angry
Empowered
Hungry (Hummus)
Withdrawn
Pensive
Connected
Empathetic
Happy
Sad

That’s tough. I can rank them by intensity, not by level of enjoyment.
1. Wistful
2. Empowered
3. Sad
4. Empathetic
5. Connected
6. Angry (Especially when I listen to the rockers on Vs)
7. Pensive
8. Withdrawn (Riot Act for some reason)
9. Hungry (Hummis but also I picture Elderly Woman behind the counter of a diner)
10. Happy (When I’m Crying

)

For me, live Pearl Jam at its most emotional begins with “the waves came crashing like a fist to the jaw.” From there into the chorus is the closest to heroin I’ve ever been.

I tried listening to Backspacer yesterday and forgot how lifeless it is. It didn’t evoke any emotional response in me. So I stopped playing it and put on Yield instead.

it's moments like that I always hope to get Given To Fly live. Same for Corduroy and Elderly Woman, which have similar moments (the waiting drove me mad/I just want to scream hello). Experiences that, if I'm in the room, I will never tire of

GTF is a bottom tier yield song, even live.
