i have great respect for the lyrical and musical swing that WMA meant at the time. But Upper Hand, even though it's on the bottom third of Dark Matter for me, is a barn burner of an anthem - the kind of song they refused to write for almost 20 years. Gets the vote

Police may have stopped my brother (again) but they won't be able to stop me from voting for - yep, you guessed it - W.M.A.

Both wonderful. I'll be happy with either advancing.
But WMA gets my vote.

Upper Hand may be my fave tune on DM but it's no WMA.

"Upper Hand" is one of my two favorite songs on DM (the other is "Scared of Fear"). I really like it.
I've had a lot of ebb and flow with "WMA" over the years. When I first got Vs. on cassette as a kid, it was one of my favorite songs. My love for it faded during the middle era, when it felt like the band had kind of forgotten it, relegating it to "Daughter" tags and whatnot. But over the past few years my ears have really opened up to it again, to the point where it's probably one of my favorite tracks on Vs. now.
Interesting match, but I'm taking "WMA."
