We’re thinking about doing a trip to Buenos Aires.
1. How kid-friendly is the city? Is there an ideal neighborhood for us to exist with a kid on foot?
2. How limited will we be if my Spanish is at a remedial level?
3. How’s public transit with a kid? Uber? Subway? Renting a car? What are we doing?
4. What’s going on outside the city? Is there nature/rural/country life stuff that’s easy to access?
5. Anything else we should know?

By the way I don't mean to scare you off with this, Buenos Aires is still one of the great cities of the world and more than worth visiting. But there's a lot of outdated information out there and people show up expecting the bargain it was even just one year ago. As of right now we are a third world nation with London prices.

ALRIGHT TRAG IS COMING TO TOWN!
Some answers
1- it is kid friendly yeah, lots of things to do with a kid on foot. There are dangerous hoods like every capital in the world but i would say its also really safe and calm.
2- not at all limited, people are very cool and friendly and they will help you. A lot of people here talk english too so its not a problem dude! Also you have your friend VG to help you
3-Public transportation is very cool if you wanna use it. I dont recommend renting a car. I dont see the use of it. Uber, Cabify and the subway are all good. It depends mainly on what are your plans here.
4. Yeah, you can do many things outside the city. I also recommend you travel a bit to the south or to the mendoza too. Hell, what about iguazu? or the north?
5. dude so many things!! just tell me in private if you want what are your plans.
Like jorge said, milei fucked it up big time, and it seems he is on the verge of actually fucking us up more! So this is a very intense year here yeah.

Also I am less confident about this now. Sounds like a fair level of management to make sure my kid is safe, comfortable, having fun.

Your parents/in-laws are absolute gladiators for you to even consider that option.
But yeah, do it.
