I did a quick search and didn't see a dedicated Chappell Roan thread... ? That feels weird. Mods please merge if necessary.
Anyway, how fucking rad is this lady?!

All the Wease girls did the same. They liked her.

Big fan as well. I'm very curious to see what she does next. Her album is great, and "Good Luck Babe" is even better, but I'm not wild about "The Giver"

I only know a few of her songs, but I like them all. I really like her voice. I was just listening to her cover of You Oughta Know

Just listen to "Good Luck Babe", and if you like it, explore the rest

Casual was the real entry point for me. I enjoyed her album upon first listen, but something really clicked for me when that track came on. The second time I listened to the album everything was resonating big time. I really don't think you can go wrong with any one track as an entry point. Except MAYBE The Giver because it so fully country. So, I could see someone being turned off or expecting everything to sound like that.

I think Chappell does circles around Olivia from a songwriting standpoint, but of course the obvious connection there is Dan Nigro. I think he's a big presence on both projects

I'm not sure there's any reason to pit them against each other. Both are interesting. Both are great. There's more than enough room for both of them.

Yeah my bad. I get that Roan's songwriting might be more sophisticated and layered but Rodrigo (and her team -- let's be honest) draw on a lot of 90s alt pop and rock influences which is right in my wheelhouse.

I have wondered if Olivia resents Chappell for collaborating with Sabrina Carpenter, her NEMESIS!

Not to mention that super rad collab with St. Vincent!
