My wife, as some of you might remember, is an avid sweepstaker. She has won all kinds of s*** throughout the years. We recently won a $12,000 golf simulator package we are trying to sell. It is taking up a lot of space in our garage and put quite the dent in our tax refund. But I will be glad when we sell it.

Penguins scored on a power play and I won free pizza for a year from pizza hut
one of the students in my Intro class said to me, you going to enjoy that pizza? i was confused as i had no idea what they were talking about. turns out my brother and cousin filled my name out and entered it in one of the games.
i gave that pizza away as i had worked at pizza hut off and on for about the previous 10 years

I won tickets to see Paul Kelly and his greatest hits album on vinyl. As this was before I re-started collecting vinyl I sent the album off to an RMer who I knew was particularly fond of one of his tunes.
Wife and myself attended the concert and got fully maggert as if we were teenagers again and had a ball.

I don't think genetic superiority really counts.

I’d argue that valuing lottery winnings or a sweepstakes hit over genetic good fortune is a weird kind of capitalism-enabled Stockholm syndrome.
