I like this as a matchup. In a way, Off He Goes is kind of a critique of the messianic tendencies of a song like Given To Fly. But that's the pearl jam I adore.


Plus, when you're they're live, the ramp up moment in Given To Fly is as good as it gets. I get chills every time I think about it

This is the first match up so far where it's easy to vote against Given To Fly.

Off He Goes is so fucking good. It feels like the only song PJ wrote specifically for me. I love it so much and it gets my vote here.

One of the curious but attractive bits of mid period Pearl Jam is this sense of atoning for the bluster and bombast in the earlier part of their career.

Given to Fly is such a picture perfect amalgam of what Pearl Jam does well it’s nearly boring. But…I am voting for it here because it is a perfect amalgam of what Pearl Jam does well.

Off Ge Goes is a wonderful song, no question, though middle of the pack for me on No Code.
