I loved the Safdies so far but this thing looks so unpersonal for them. They really want an oscar i guess?

this is the first solo project for one of the brothers, Benny. the other brother is making a ping ponger movie with chalamet wearing big dorky glasses, and paltrow i think. they decided to go MGTOW and see whose sports movie is better

I respect that they're trying to get the combat aspect as accurate and believable as possible, but casting retired MMA fighter Ryan Bader as his coach, Mark Coleman, is wild. The dude is completely devoid of charisma and as far as I'm aware has little-to-no acting experience. Must be a tiny part.

Also, Bas Rutten playing himself ~25 years on is hilarious. Love that guy.

The Safdies always put some non actors in their movies and it works out great every time, therefore I'm sure the rock will be just fine in this

Looks unreal if you ask me and I don't even care about ufc. Also think the Safdie brothers are a bit overrated.

Looks like shit. So much of these trailers is just taken straight out of John Hyams's documentary. What's the point?
