Movies that could maybe use a remake
We all hate remakes, but sometimes maybe a remake could work?
There are a few movies with a great premise but terrible execution that could be remade without bothering me too much.
Watching The Running Man and - charming 80s'isms aside - there is a much better movie in there somewhere.
But I'm sure modern Hollywood would just screw it up.

I'm surprised it doesn't star The Rock.Ensign9 wrote:I feel like Burt created this thread solely to shit on the new Running Man remake.
Classic Burt.
But I have to admit, Edgar Wright is a perfect choice.

I also think that they have never really nailed Nightmare on Elm Street.

The prequel star wars trilogy with significant re-rewriting, fat trimming, and reduction in tax debates.
I'd love to see a version of The Shining that retains the humanity that Stephen King wrote into the story.
And I've always wanted to like Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings, but I'm often distracted by the immaturization of all the hobbits. In the movie they come across almost like children when in the books they're far more mature. It's a pretty huge swing and miss, all things considered.

I will say the remake of Roadhouse was a lot better than i expected. I am not sure if it is better than the first but it just as good
