Local ordinances you'd like to bring down and why

I was just posting about the end of an era of superabundance over in the safe to fly thread and it brought to mind a related thought. In my locality, it's against regulations to have livestock. It's an ordinance in mind to preserve the city as a residential and commercial zone. The understandable side is nobody wants to live next door to someone raising pigs. But the stupid side is nobody wants to live next to stuff that isn't 100% manicured and devoted to leisure. Meanwhile, the price of groceries keeps rising because nobody produces their own food anymore. We're all beholden to a food system that is enmired in the reality that industrial production can only ever get more expensive.

Anyway, I'd like to take down that livestock ordinance so that I could raise some egg-laying chickens. Seems pretty possible to do so in a way that doesn't look like a junk yard.

What petty, HOA-driven local law would you like to tank?

My town stopped collecting leaves at the curb this year.

They want us to leave them where they lay or put them in $75 yard waste bins.

Fuck them.

Local paper is calling it "Leaf Gate."
