Celebrities Getting Old

Post by daft twat »

I think it’s somehow weirder than parents getting old because it’s often years or even decades between seeing them. Plus, they’re immortalized on celluloid. I don’t think anything makes my own aging or mortality more sobering than seeing the faces I idolized or watched weekly on tv getting old.

Just throw on a Tommy Lee Jones flick and you'll feel better. Dude has looked 65 for 40 years.

I agree, but that’s not what I mean. It’s not the Morgan Freemans and Steve Martins that I can’t get over. It’s the way Anthony Michael Hall looked in the 80s and how he looks now. How is that even the same person? It’s reading Hope “Fade Into You” Sandoval just turned 59. It’s the interview I saw where Patricia Heaton talked about not doing an Everybody Loves Raymond revival. She’s 67! I mean, of course she is, but still…wow!

I get what you're saying. I saw George Clooney in a Nescafe commercial and between the cut of his suit, his drawn face, and the way his body moved he just looked suddenly grandpa-ish. I felt that "oof" in my soul.

I also feel it when watching baseball. I'll see a pitcher who looks old and think, I bet he's my age. I'll look him up and he'll be like 5 years younger than me.

Everyone who was in their 30s in the ’90s is now in their mid-50s to mid-60s

Oh man, the way men move as they get older is such a bummer. Denzel as Macbeth was hard to watch.

The Irishman would be an 8/10 without the weird de-aging and having DeNiro beat up that guy in the street. He legitimately looks like a geriatric trying to put the boot in. Embarrassing.

Scorsese is a stubborn dumbass for that. What a diabolical sequence.

The fuck it is. Trag is a legend. If I was pretending to be him I would welcome the comparisons.

Trag was a legend yes. His ways motivated a whole idea, a concept. To Trag something. To be Traggish. He was brave enough to take that place for everyone here.

I wont forget that.

I just saw a man fall to his knees at the farmer's market. Right in front of the organic sorbet stand.
