DeLima wrote:Since I got hosed by zeb in the first round of the last one he's released a lot of stuff. I could curate this one. It would include all studio solo albums (including Imitations), the two Soulsavers albums, and the Duke Garwood collaboration. I'd leave off the Isobel Campbell stuff unless there was a lot of demand.

Let's say 8 players, 8 songs each. If I can get 8 we'll do this. (Sign up spots do not reflect selection order).

Anything he sang (co)lead on should be included

Isobel lps are now in. One spot left!

Also in will be the three recently released songs on the Mad Season reissue (Locomotive, Black Book of Fear, and Slip Away). This is arbitrary, I know, because there are tons of other songs he's lead vocals on which are ineligible, but I'm really enjoying these 3 songs and feel they are slipping away into the ether underappreciated. So they're in.

I'm not into Isobel or the other collabs but will run with the majority. Lanegan solo material is the best y'know.

Albums/Songs available for selection:

Solo Albums/Eps:
The Winding Sheet
Whiskey
Scraps
I'll Take Care
Field Songs
Weird Chill
Bubblegum
Blues Funeral
Imitations

(All released B-Sides are selectable...Mirrored, Mud Pink Skag, Death Don't Have No Mercy, Slide Machine, Blues Run the Game, etc. If someone wants to make an exhaustive B-Side list please do. Unreleased stuff like Following the Rain and Josephine is out)

W/Isobel:
Ballad of the Broken Seas
Sunday at Devil Dirt
Hawk

W/Soulsavers:
It's Not How Far You Fall...
Broken

W/Garwood
Black Pudding

W/Gutter Twins:
Saturnalia
Adorata

Other Selectable Songs:
Untitled Lullaby
Locomotive
Black Book of Fear
Slip Away

If there's a strong argument to be made for any song that I've forgotten/left off, let's hear it. I've included covers on officially released albums/b-sides, but am drawing the line there. I love The Beast In Me, Cafe, etc., as much as the next guy, but if we count every cover Lanegan has done that's showed up on any release or comp, we're fucked.

The Queens stuff is out, although part of me wants to include it, just to see if In the Fade and God/Radio would actually beat out everything else he's done. Same with the Twilight Singers stuff like Number Nine, Hard Time Killing Floor, etc.

Thoughts? If folks are really into including the Queens/Twilight Singers stuff we can consider it.

If you start doing QOTSA then you might as well do Mad Season. Then you're on your way down the rabbit hole. I say leave it off :)

I'm not sure why any song where he's not lead vocal is ineligible.
