How often do you eat in your car?

From what I've seen it seems like American like to eat in their cars a lot.

What foods are best suited for car-eating? How about the worst?

Isn't this just YouTube "food reviewer" types? I'm assuming they do it because they travel pretty far in some cases, and the food would be cold by the time they return home.

The last time I ate in a car was inhaling a burger with my big bro before seeing The Batman. We had like 15 mins and needed something. It's perfectly acceptable when you're low on time IMO.

I seldom eat in the car, but if I do, it’s probably two McD’s cheeseburgers and a small Coke. Very manageable while driving.

Did you eat in the car before the Vette?

Back in the day I might scarf down something on my work break or if I was running late, or maybe I didn't want to deal with my roommate's shit, but I'd rather take it home and eat it. Kinda sad to eat in the car.

You don't have to watch them to know that they exist in great abundance.

Those videos give me anxiety when they’re eating a big sloppy sandwich or whatever, because I’m waiting for it to splooge out all over their clothes or upholstery.

That seems like it would be the best part

I think there are three elements that contribute to car-eating being more prevalent in the US than other countries:

- Drive-through culture
- American cities and suburbs are often designed around driving rather than walking or public transport, so there's already more of a car-centric lifestyle
- Approximately 45% of the country is parking lots

By the way, none of this is an indictment on car eating. Like Ello said it's sometimes the best option when you're on the go.

It's just very far removed from my own life so I find it very interesting

Sitting in your car sad-eating whataburger by the railroad tracks is the only way to sad-eat whataburger.
