Thought about putting up a favorite track but it was really no extra work to just put up a full album:

There's a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it's all right, baby it's all right

And it's very far away
But it's growing day by day
And it's all right, baby it's all right

Would you like to come along?
And you could help me sing this song
And it's all right, baby it's all right

They can tell you what to do
But they'll make a fool of you
And it's all right, baby it's all right

This was one of my favorite videos to play when I used to DJ a new wave night. What a great band.

I never tire of these guys. I know it's cliche, but...

I can never not dance to Talking Heads.
I enjoyed this little book recently:

Leave it to Asher to bring a book to a music thread.

I didn't know Lethem wrote one of those. He has a little segment devoted to "Fear of Music" in his book "The Disappointment Artist."

I'm with you, man. one of my favorite Talking Heads songs is cliche too, but coupled with the video, it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen/heard in my life (in the early 80s) - youtube doesn't have it but there's a link

Once In A Lifetime is one of those songs like When Doves Cry or B.O.B. that because it's so beloved and accepted as a pop classic, people tend to take for granted how stunningly original and unique it is. Over three decades later, it's still quite an achievement.

I pretty much grew up with these guys playing somewhere or another in the background, it's not until I sit and think about it though that I realize how much of their music I loved. it's somewhat fashionable, with any era of teens, to disregard some of the more mainstream type hits of legendary bands, but there were definite reasons for them being hits... this song was like that I think.
