It is now 2026 in Kiritimati, and gradually the rest of the world will follow. Happy new year everyone!

I can say with certainty that December 2025 was the worst month of my life, and 2025 as a whole was probably the second worst year of my life (behind 2020). It had its highlights, of course, but man this ending just sucked.
Hoping 2026 is gentler and happier for everyone

Sorry to hear that Jorge.
This was a garbage year. I think I'd take another 2020 over this dumpster fire of a year. Good fucking riddance to it!
But even if 2025 was a good year for you, RM, I hope everyone here has a far superior 2026.
Much love, fam. And Happy New Year.

yeah, 2025 was a weird one. I have a great life so it feels weird to me to complaint about it. But it was truly weird and sad.
I hope 2026 is better in a lot of ways.

The political climate and lack of humanity around the world in this the year of our lord 2025 was absolutely pitiful.
How does this get better in 2026?

Happy with my year, especially getting a second child, my mother moving closer to us, Palace winning the FA Cup. Had lots of fun with my family and my hobbies.
Of course any year has bad things. I lost a dear uncle, after he had struggled with cancer for years. International politics and wars were terrible, not unlike a lot of years. Life in Norway is stable, even if everything seems more expensive these days.
Hope everyone here gets a great and better 2026.

What are your top 3 hobbies, Anders?

Following Crystal Palace FC, watching movies, playing games. Used to be music/concerts, but I’m down to 1-2 concerts per year, and don’t listen to enough new music.
Wouldn’t call my kids or family a hobby, but my family, with two small kids, and work, take up most of my time.

How was your year?

Worst year of my life (so far)!
Dog died. Close friend and family died. Car died. Mysterious health problems put me out of commission for about 6 months and cost me a lot of money in medical bills. Everything is more beige. The world is run by satanic pedophiles.
But it's over!

Don't you dare disparage beige.
Hugs.

My nine year old nephew slept over at his friend’s house and kept calling us to wish us happy new year at each major interval. This’ll be a fun night again in a few years for my five year old and me.
