Nah, I think the closest I ever got was Unskinny Bop.
I think it was a cassette single someone left behind in my house.

The band I was in in high school learned Something To Believe In because all the chicks dug it but that’s the only one I ever really paid attention to. Didn’t care for them, really.

He was a dime-a-dozen hair metal shredder. There was nothing about his playing that made him stand out above all the other guys back then.

I owned one of their albums when I was maybe 11? It was the one with Unskinny Bop. I don’t really recall anything about that album except for that. I shed that album I think maybe when I was 12 or so. I’ll throw it into the studio albums thread though for nostalgic purposes. Maybe it will bring back 35 years ago memories?

I won’t forget you
Something to believe in
When I hear music
Valley of lost souls

Decent ep I was young

A progression from kiss
I believe the extravagant image
Really tarnished the art itself

The original open up and say ah
Cover is phenomenal cover imo

When I was in my formative years, my uncle (who was closer to my age than my parents') turned me onto a ton of great music. I wouldn't have found artist like Liz Phair without him.

But he had a real blind spot for Hair Metal. He loved Motely Crue and Poison. He tried so hard to get me into those bands and it never stuck. His fave was Metallica. And I liked them for a bit. Also Def Leppard and to a lesser extent Guns N Roses. Uncle Jim had good taste, but where we diverged we REALLY diverged.

Anyway, Poison sucks.

Thing abut hair metal is the art had no chance

It was all production

Drums sounded sick and that ruined as many albums as an eighties keyboard burned rock albums to the ground

To evolve from poison to MLB also seems natural

Just as natural as Pearl Jam to the strokes

Fans hoping to see Poison hit the road this year may need to hang tight a little longer.

On Sunday, January 18, Page Six reported that plans for the multi-platinum glam metal band’s long-rumored 40th anniversary tour have fallen apart after a disagreement over money.

“We had a great offer, I thought. But we left the table,” Rikki Rockett, the group’s co-founder and original drummer, told the outlet. “It didn’t work.”

Rockett, 64, explained that he, guitarist C.C. DeVille, and bassist Bobby Dall were all ready to move forward. The sticking point came when frontman Bret Michaels asked for a significantly larger share of the payout. “It’s like $6 to every one of our dollars,” Rockett said. “You just can’t work that way.”

While the tour was never officially announced, fans have been watching closely ever since Michaels, 62, floated the idea in a 2024 Facebook post, calling 2026 “the perfect” time to mark 40 years since Look What the Cat Dragged In. He added that nothing was locked in, noting that it would take “much coordination & planning,” but said a limited run of shows made sense to him.

Michaels also framed the potential reunion as a natural next step after Poison’s recent touring success, writing that a 2026 run could be a chance to “go out, play real live hit songs, and rock the world.”

Given that enthusiasm, the stalled reunion may come as a surprise to some. But Michaels hasn’t exactly slowed down. Just days ago, he teased his Live & Amplified 2026 Tour on his official website, calling out early February dates — including shows around Valentine’s weekend — and hinting at a “big bucket list announcement” coming next week.

Despite the disagreement, Rockett made it clear there’s no bad blood. “Every member of this band has given me so much privilege in life,” he told Page Six. “It’s like hating your parents.”

As for Poison’s future? The veteran rocker isn’t ruling anything out — including a delayed celebration. “[It would be] a perfect Poison folly to do a 41st anniversary tour,” he joked. And while he acknowledged that replacing Michaels isn’t impossible, it’s not something he wants. “I don’t think there’s a better frontman for Poison,” Rockett said. “We just didn’t come to [an] agreement.”

I’m not a fan or anything, but I accompanied a friend to see them in the aughts. Ratt opened and was awesome. I wound up in the lobby for Poison because it was too crowded. I saw them just 4 years ago open for Def Leppard/Motley Crue, and they were super fun. Mid-afternoon, sun shining, and completely self-aware. They were way better than Crue.
