My wife is a huuuuuuuge fan. I don’t care about the Super Bowl this year but she is making sure we watch his halftime show.
I don’t mind him, he’s got some good stuff. “Titi me pregunto” is a great song

I like his incorporation of salsa and merengue rhythms into the more typical contemporary reggaeton and Latin trap style but I find it hard to get past his singing, which I find excruciatingly annoying. I'd rather just listen to the records he's taking inspiration from. Join me in the tropical dance music thread

He is not a good singer by any means, no.

I prefer Good Bunny
I listened to some of his stuff a while back (before he was announced as the halftime show guy and all that stupid kerfuffle) because literally every baseball player I followed on social media used his music on their self-promotion reels. I can be perfectly fine saying I’m not his target audience and it’s quite obvious why he’d be chosen for a half time show because he is obviously huge in a demographic that the nfl wants money from. Anyway. That’s my explanation of the obvious.

i hadn’t listened to any of his music until the last two days
just his most recent album
musically some interesting ideas there
the vocals def convey a sadness
i feel the pain of a territory mistreated by the mainland
or maybe my white guilt is just projecting that
regardless
glad he is using his platform to expressly condemn ICE
it’s all eyes on him worldwide right now and rather than slinking into private concerts for hedge fund guys or baseball team owners
he is openly objecting to the powers that be and bearing the risk
mega kudos to him

i had only learned of him from Happy Gilmore 2
thought he was super funny and i was like 'who is that actor'
then was like 'oh he's a singer'
had never heard of him
la bomba has an interesting history
it was forbidden at one point
a form of protest dance

I can’t say the music grabbed me but the performance and set pieces were fantastic - can’t remember a better performance set piece.

Absolutely. The who thing was just so joyful and fun, as a halftime performance should be.

He was on the tv while we were all talking during halftime of the super bowl about the first half of the super bowl and what we were looking forward to during the second half of the super bowl
