Do you know how to swim? Do you like swimming? What are your thoughts on swimming? Why are you afraid of the ocean?

Yes, I took lessons growing up and lived near the beach most of my life. Living in an apartment in the city I don't get to do it as much as I used to but I love to be in the water

One of my favorite things about going back home is swimming around in the pool that I didn't appreciate enough growing up. Man I wish I had a pool in Buenos Aires

I basically grew up in lakes and rivers so I never really had to learn to swim. I think they just threw me in the water at a young age and that was that. lots of water skiing and wakeboarding and all that shit. For some reason I kinda hate it now though. Maybe I got sick of dad dragging us out there all the time. I'd rather be on a mountain now.

How long has it been since you went for a dip

Stayed at my brother's lake house last summer. Took the jet ski out for a bit. Does that count?

Probably been a long time since I've been in a pool now that I think about it.

No, riding a jet ski does not count as swimming

It seems like you think all parts of the ocean are the same.

I might be a swimming master. Maybe the best ever. I don't know. It's been awhile. Or maybe I forgot how. Can you forget how to swim? Was I in danger on that jet ski?

It's just a bunch of water. Nobody ever died from water.

I swam competitively until high school and was a lifeguard at the beach in college.

I also had three classmates in sixth grade who were fucking around in high waters after a storm and got swept away and drowned.

My point being don’t accept Jorge’s swim scenario

100% agree. you think you can hold your breath for 30 seconds and you probably can. but can you do it in swells 40 and 50 feet high at night when it is pitch black and you get pulled under. are you sure you are not going to panic and scream just as a wave hits your face and you swallow a gallon of sea water?

I am a strong swimmer, but I would not accept Jorge's swim scenario. The north Atlantic is frigid, even in summer. I can't imagine being dropped in the arctic. The shock alone would probably kill you!
