Go vs. Alone

Alone is a great b-side and was good enough to make Ten or Vs. But Go is better.

This is a great matchup because both songs were written by Dave!

The nod must of course go to 'Go' for it is a sheer monolithic giant. It's power drove a generation of pearl jam fans and set the intro to a new chapter in American rock history

Alone is a great deep cut and a great example of PJ riffing in that era. But it's not in the same league as Go

Go should win the whole damn thing.

I'm gonna vote for Alone because it deserves better.

But Go is gonna win and it should.

Not true for Alone - it was written by Stone (musically at least) and they recorded it first with Krusen.

This is a tough match-up, both outstanding Pearl Jam songs, but Alone gets the nod.

Saw Alone live last time. Wow.

But Go is a monster.

Great call, I forgot he got the writing credit.

Though it was written in 1990, it wasn't released until 1993 when they were in the habit of crediting the whole band for everything.

I don't think so, at least I don't think anyone's made that claim.

It's credited to the whole band, as most songs were in that era, but I think it's Stone's riffs.

I like Alone but I can’t imagine this being much of a close choice. Go is all the adrenaline Pearl Jam can muster in 3 minutes - a song where if you asked me to show you Pearl Jam going all out, this is it (Whipping also comes to mind but in a bit more of a punk way than this).
