Corduroy historically, and I may change this vote (after I listen in the car), but today I'm feeling Last Exit. This is my number 2 and my number 4 in a pre dance and waiting for stevie world. Now Last Exit might be 6?

Last Exit gets my vote. It feels in the right moments like it could fully unravel, and of course it doesn’t. That doesn’t take away from Corduroy, which ends with one of the great jams of this band, particularly live. This is just two of their best.

Corduroy is another classic. I wouldn't call it a pop masterpiece but I think I read somewhere, maybe here, most likely here, that it's the perfect representation of the band, the one song someone could play for a person who never heard the band before, and say this is their ur-song, this is what Pearl Jam's about.

Defiant, emotional lyrics, interesting guitar interplay, an intro that takes it's time and increases the drama before exploding. And all the while there's a thick bass sound to keep pace with the solid drumming. The whole album sounds great and here one can hear all the different instrumental strands woven around Eddie's voice.

Corduroy.

Kinda funny how much we all love Last Exit, but to the casual listener it's a minor song.

Last Exit was the beginning of the end for the casual fan.
