Pearl Jam songs that sound too much like other PJ songs?

My perception when I first started going deeper into their catalog was that a lot of their songs sound too much like other ones. I wish I still remembered, because now that I know them better they get more distinguishable.

I wish I had good examples to use for this topic but I can't think of any so this topic kinda sucks but maybe other people can. I'm listening to Binaural again since that and Riot Act are the two Ive only heard a couple times...Grievance reminds me a ton of other songs. I think I hear Whipping at first, and then it turns into something else that I can't identify right now but definitely sounds like something besides its own song.

Oh yes...Severed Hand and Porch DEFINITELY I forgot that one. I hear a ton of Whipping and Satan's Bed in World Wide Suicide too. And I hear a lot of Spin the Black Circle in Comatose.

Release and Elderly woman have actually some similarities.
Both give me really different feelings tho.

I still think the music in supersonic and the music in mankind are very similar and i can hear bits of inside job in speed of sound

Oh and I hear a bit too much of Garden in Can't Keep.

And yeah I never heard the Release and Elderly Woman similarities until my friend was in the car, and he's basically a Pearl Jam novice but hears me listening to them in the car all the time on PJ Radio and thought Release was Elderly Woman. I never noticed how the first note is the same word and pitch lol. And it's similar but I don't think it's that bad.

Weirdly enough Grievance gives me the strongest feeling of being made out of other songs, but Whipping is the only one I can identify. I know there's more though.

the verses of Once, Even Flow, Animal and Why Go sound alike mostly due to Ed's delivery and the fact that they're more or less based on one chord.

One of the things I love about Pearl Jam is really how many songs don't sound like other ones. A few have some similar parts or melodies but it is astonishing considering how limited of a scope of rock they are.

Oh right! what's funny about 1/2 full is that I didn't listen to Riot Act for a while, and so I heard it the first two times on PJ Radio and thought it was just an alternate for Red Mosquito lol
