You Are vs. Quick Escape

this is an interesting match. Two fairly similar songs. Quick Escape for me though. You Are doesn't quite do anything well enough for me. The atmosphere isn't quite there. The heaviness isn't quite there. Sleepy Eddie is on display. And despite having one of my favorite opening lyrics in the catalog, the rest of the lyrics don't do anything.

I love almost everything about Quick Escape

You Are by most of the catalog.

I think Gigaton is their best record post 2006, but that's a very low bar. I think the production, understated vibe, and a handful of good songs (WES, DotC, TtLW, Retrograde) are what drags it into that category. It still holds a decent amount of overheated blunders, like Quick Escape.

You Are is another one I like a lot more today than I did a decade or two ago. It stands a decent chance of getting my vote in most matchups, but not this one.

oh this is one is hard, i love QE so much but You Are is just...wonderful. Today, its You Are.

You Are is so fucking good.

I'm gonna show some love and support for QE here, though. It's a monster that deserves better.

Pretty even match in my book.
Both sound awesome on their intros.
QE better verses, YA better chorus.
