Maybe you guys can help. My wife and I are going to the show in Dallas in November. I am a lifeling Pearl Jam fan but my wife has heard vurtually none of their music. She is 28, and Im not sure how Pearl Jam escaped her, but it seems that she is unfamiliar with most rock music from 80's,90's,00's She is opene to just about any type of music as long as its not "dark" or "depressing. She is excited about listening to Pearl Jam and giving them a shot. I have no clue what to give her. Maybe just 10-15 songs to warm her up. From what I know of her musical taste, she would be less inclined to the hit and more open to something like Sirens/Just breathe/given to fly. So i guess more friendly sounding? thanks for the help

I'd have her listen to Led Zeppelin live in Dallas bootleg from April 1, 1977..classic stuff

Well, The Who's "Who's Next" is the one that has Babs O'Riley on it. So I'd start with that record.

I guess I can clarify a bit more. She definitely leans towards country/pop. Her mixture of tastes is strange. She likes oldies and classic rock, but lately just country/pop. I know she will hear all the hits when we go to the show but I really want her to "like" pearl jam and just go along with it because she is with me. That why I'm afraid to start her out with stuff like even flow/go/ RVM and stuff like that. Here is my list so far..
Long road
Off he gos
Just breathe
Sirens
Amongst the waves
Can't keep
Come back
Thumbing my way
Given to fly
Hard sun
Wish list
Thin air?
Sleeping by myself
Better man?
Elderly woman?
Future days

Looks good, if that's what she's into.

Might be worth including Lowlight, Of the Girl, and Thin Air as well. Maybe even All or None. It depends on how morose she likes it.

On the other hand, just give her the Benaroya Hall record.

I had thin air and lowlight on their. I can just her her saying that lowlight is too dark.

Oh, sorry, missed that.

The point where she says Lowlight is too dark is the point where you either divorce her, or just say it's probably not a great idea to see PJ then.

Thin Air is much darker than Lowlight.

Lowlight is a great choice, my wife loves that song, and Who You Are too.

My wife's favorites include: Black, Who You Are, Low Light, Parachutes, Tremor Christ, Betterman, Why Go, Oceans, Unthought Known, Just Breathe, Parting Ways, All Those Yesterdays and RVM.

I played a few songs off the new album, and she really liked Sleeping By Myself too.
