I know that this is generally a rock forum, but has anyone been able to download the newest Eminem album? Apparently it leaked yesterday.

Rap and Hip Hop has never been a genre that thrives on albums and long plays in general, to me. I tend to favor singles or isolated listens. "Rap God" satisfies that need brilliantly.

New album called Kamikaze dropped last night. It's pretty fucking good 5 tracks in.

The first three tracks on this are interesting. The thing is too long, though. And he falls into old patterns and themes too easily. We've heard half of these songs before.

Though, he's still a strong lyricist and the beats and compositions feel fresh and dynamic for him.

I forget which track in particular. But it's there. It's probably in a couple of places but there is one song in particular where it really stands out.

I gave up on Em a while back. I haven't heard his last two or three records before this one. I was hoping he would have evolved a bit more, but whatever. It's insane how much Kendrick has influenced him. It's the most obvious thing about the new record.

Lil Yachty is way more interesting than contemporary Eminem.

I'm so far outside rap culture, it's stupid. I have no idea when he's dissing someone or just saying words. Like Charlemagne. He says that two or three times on the album. Just a word? A historical reference? A reference to something else I should know? A rapper?

No idea.

No matter how good his disses are, rap is for young people.. so when these new guys come back with the disses at him, they will win in the youths eyes
