is it true that there is a stack of ani difranco CDs at the desk of every subaru salesman?

This Australian guy asked me if I liked Ani, and I said,"yeah she's alright." He gave me a weird look and repeated himself. It took me sometime to realize he was saying "Arnie".

Oh how we laughed about that for days. We were kings back then.

Always liked Ani...

Saw her with a friend back in '95 in Seattle, touring for her Dilate album. It was a real good show musically, et al... We were fairly intimidated by some of the chicks in the audience eyeing us though. To this day, I've never experienced anything like that anywhere else. Ever.

She does put on a good show though for sure.

honestly though, there isn't much I don't like by her although her early stuff is a little to grrlpower for even me.

she's pretty awesome as a songwriter and one of a very few artists out there (at least before, not sure about these days) who said fuck you to the music industry and did everything on her own terms.
