So, it seems Adore is coming next...what should be expecting? are the Matt Cameron songs going to be in it?
Besides, a rick rubin version of Let me give the world to you?

This should be a fascinating reissue. First there's this:

Image

I expect the following to be on it in some form:
Let Me Give The World To You [Rick Rubin studio version]
Cash Car Star [studio version]
Blissed and Gone [was cut only for time concerns...it was replaced with "17", which is a short piano version of "Blissed and Gone"]
Pug [with Matt Cameron; supposedly a rock version like what was played on tour]
Do You Close Your Eyes? [outtake from this era]
Chewing Gum [outtake from this era]
The End Is The Beginning Is The End [on a soundtrack; expect an "alternate" version to get around royalty issues]
Waiting [the studio version or a demo? listen here]
Valentine [Billy acoustic demo; listen here]
etc.

There's lots from this era (like every era...) that deserves a release. I can't wait to hear what Billy finds. There are a ton of pro-shot videos from this era so I expect a full show this time.

is that the original cover??
How is that Rick Rubin become involved in just one song? i really hope they release all songs with matt, always thought the pumpkins would be a great band for him.

If I'm not mistaken, that was the original vinyl cover only.

I keep seeing Mellon Collie in the store and want to get it but can't justify spending the money.

"Do You Close Your Eyes?" sounds great. So much music coming out of that dude - you can almost see why he perceives the world like he does. He's a (musical) genius surrounded by us common folk who couldn't possibly understand.

OK, so I've got

Gish + 1 disc
Siamese Dream + 1 disc
Pisces Iscariot + 1 disc
Mellon Collie + 3 discs
Adore
Machina
Machina II
Greatest Hits + Judas 0
Zwan (let's face it, that's Smashing Pumpkins)
Zeitgeist
Oceania

That's 18 fucking discs of Smashing Pumpkins, plus whatever Teargarden stuff I've got.

Guys, I'm kinda overwhelmed. Shawn Smith doesn't record this much.

What distinguishes it from Smashing Pumpkins?

If Billy and Jimmy can continue as the Pumpkins, or did, I suppose that gives rise to B's argument; but not much else.

fuck this Mellon Collie Reissue is great!!
A lot of good stuff from those sessions, most of the outtakes are really, really good...and those unfinished or instrumental songs are great too.
He was way ahead of his peers at the time.

It's almost overwhelming and they're coming so fast it's hard to digest.
What's insane is that PJ writes by committee and they haven't produced half the material that Billy alone has churned out in the same time. Even if a lot of it is not fit for repeat consumption it's great to have for any completest.

All the sadlands demos are just astonishing..most of them are just Billy with a guitar...and yet the songs are so powerful.
I really think he needs to work with a producer like Flood or Butch Vig in the next record.

Agree. I'm not a big fan of bands producing their own albums they need someone to say "that's not good enough".

Even though the tracklists for Mellon Collie are pretty much perfect, Set the ray to jerry should have been on that record.
That´s no b-side Billy.

I really haven't been keeping up here. What's the least expensive way to purchase the demo tracks?
