I thought I'd share some of my "artwork" here with you folks, since I enjoy reading and occasionally participating in discussions with you all.
Brief background: I've been into into drawing since before I started school. It was always a hobby or pastime until late high school, where I decided to try to make a career of it. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Cazenovia College, though I consider myself to be largely self-taught, since the only really practical thing I learned in college was to be a more keen observer. I've not been able to make any sort of career out of it, but I have enjoyed sharing my work with coworkers and friends over the last several years.
Lately, I've been trying to teach myself how to color my drawings in Photoshop, and have toyed with the idea of digital painting. It's a slow process, but I received an old Wacom from a friend and it's helped considerably.
Anyway, samples!:

This is some great stuff, man. Have you thought of writing picture story books?

Yeah, I've given it some thought, but I don't know if I can really write in that style or have any interesting story ideas.

Maybe a writer will come along someday and you can collaborate. The dinosaur and caveman are great.

I've looked for writer collabs a bit on things like Elance and Craigslist. There's a flaky poet/writer guy in town who proposed to collaborate with me. We did a short comic together that's on my dA, but he never got his act together to put his children's book to paper.
Thanks for the kind words Sarge and mookie. They're appreciated.

Those artistic types can be flakey, unfortunately.
Don't give up though!

Toby, the Constipated Bear.
Illustrated By Brett
Written by Sgt. Crackpot
Toby is a bear.
Toby loves to eat raccoons.
One day, Toby ate too many raccoons.
Toby is now constipated.
Toby is too embarrassed to tell anyone.
Then Toby met Bob the Rabbit.
Bob loves to eat prunes.
Toby ate Bob.
Toby shits in the woods like all the other bears.
Toby is happy again.
There's your number 1 best seller right there.

I Want To Ride My Triceratops
Illustrated by Brett
Inner dialogue of Clive The Caveman and his higher self (in Olde English) written by mookie
I needeth a sweat'r because the wint'r months art coming. The weath'r is becoming cold on mineth skin. Mineth loin cloth is fine f'r riding mineth tric'ratops, howev'r not yea the chaffing from riding bareback can keepeth me warmeth if the travelling lamp sets.
[The triceratops snorts and the wind carries a crusty booger the size of an acorn to hit Clive square between the eyes]
What in heaven's nameth is a sweat'r? Mineth imagination is running wild with hallucinations of furs and warmths and survival.
What wouldst a sweater be if I knew what 'twas?
Hmmrrppff.
[Clive the Caveman sits and thinks laboriously, but surrenders to his own laziness]
I wanteth to rideth mineth tric'ratops. I don't wanteth to maketh a sweat'r!
[A cold wind blows across the land]
'tis cold and mineth bones art chill'd.
Hmmrrppff.
[The Caveman sits and thinks laboriously again until discovering a loophole]
'tis no fur on my mineth tric'ratops.
I wanteth to rideth mineth tric'ratops. I don't wanteth to maketh a sweat'r!
{{{Insert a smaller icon type illustration here of the Clive the Caveman in an ice cube - the kiddos are pretty sharp - they'll figure out the moral of the story}}}
