Poor let the records play. It's not a great song, but it's so much better than people give it credit for.

Is it "You" or "U"?

I think they may have changed it to You when it was released on Lost Dogs or something. But it was definitely U as a Yield B-Side.

I think they've spelt it both ways. If I'm wrong I'll change it.

Yeah, it was originally U. On Lost Dogs they changed it to You and changed a couple of the words around. Actually, the changes made it a pretty different song -- or rather, gave the same song a really different intention.

Yeah, the original was definitely better. Before it was a "U fucked up my life" kind of song and then it became a "You are the love of my life" kind of song.

Was this the first case of Pearl Jam whitewashing Beth out of Ed's past?

Well, I don't mind LtRP.

I just listened to both you/u's. There's a bit more guitar work in the LD version (which is also the case with Undone and BRY), but otherwise I don't know that i really see a difference in the tone.

The outro is kinda cool.

It's the other way round isn't it? Lost dogs is 'thought it would be easy to stay in love, but you you you' and the older version is 'don't think its easy to stay in love, but you you you'.

Anyway, voted for u.

Honestly, I haven't listened to either in years.

No worries, brother. Who can really keep track anymore?

This was a tough call. Neither song does much for me musically, but I do enjoy (most of) the lyrics to LTRP. U has that really nice masked sarcastic Ed viewpoint going for it though

if U and Pilate were treading water in the ocean and I was in a lifeboat with a life preserver and a rope and no one else around to see, I would not throw it to them

but I would otherwise wish them well

I waver on LTRP so severely. I was initially so happy to hear a blues-riff attempt on LB but the boogey woogey doo da day bullshit that Ed always pulls these days just amplifies the gayitude without need so incredibly it just makes me want to pull my pants down and start humping the picture of JTT from 1995 that I still have hanging on the ceiling over my bed

but then i still have fantasies, aside from porking JTT, that LTRP will deliver this epic blues jam ending live that just goes and goes and saves PJ from their Miller Boyett ways...

but it hasn't delivered it

But U just plain sucks so Let The Records Play!
