I really like both of these. Slight edge to Thin Air though.

Pop quiz... When was Thin Air first performed? I was there... Love it!
Never liked the spoken word thing on I'm Open, but it's tolerable. The rest of it is ok.

Thin Air sounds damn good on the record, but I'm Open has some of that same instrumental mood-development experimentation that made Dead Man so good. So while both are nice (but perhaps underwritten), and both rely heavily on the way they were recorded to give them a lot of their charm or depth, the latter's production points off in a direction I wish the band had explored more.

the music on thin air is really nice, as is the feel of the song. I hate the lyrics though.

I don't know what to say except there are some good lyrics in this song. I wouldn't hold it as their greatest lyric, but most of their songs aren't.

I like both, but the lyrics to "I'm Open" have always struck me as kind of high school poetry-ish. I do agree with McP that it sounds wonderful, though.
I went with "Thin Air."

Ya I'm really starting to think he says things just to get a reaction.

It's sad, but stip is dead serious.

people are welcome to defend the lyrics to thin air.
Hate is too strong a word though. I'll dial that back
