this was the only tough call for me this round. I went with swallowed whole since I've been really into it lately. But I do like amongst the waves.

I always liked it. It was just towards the bottom of the record for me. I like every song on lightning bolt. Probably the only album besides Vs. I'd say that about.

Swallowed Whole is pretty much the only song on Lightning Bolt I want to listen to..

Inside Job is one of those times.

It's a good song. The lyrics are fine. Fuck "Amongst the Waves".

Amongst the Waves is a lot worse though.

I wish I coulda gone back and made a rule that I would always vote against songs that included the word "wave" in either the title or the lyrics. Would there have been any really awesome songs I would've voted against? (note: I already voted against GTF in this round, but not for that reason).

Swallowed Whole doesn't try to do anything special with the lyrics. It's almost like they're just there for phonetic impact. Inside Job thinks it's saying something really profound, but is actually just stupid. I'd take the former over the latter any day.

It's a lot like comparing Green Egg & Ham to Atlas Shrugged.

Yeah, Inside Job is judged more harshly because they're lyrics that demand judgement.
