strangest tribe is another one of those songs I'm not a huge fan of, but I understand why people like it. I just like the straight ahead hugeness of a song like hold on, even one that isn't all that great, to the naval gazing of strangest tribe. It's just not what I look for in pearl jam.

Strangest Tribe is like sitting around the fireplace of a tiny wooden cabin in the middle of winter with your best buds, and everybody's talked out and just staring at the flames.

Fine words for a fine song that I will support until it inevitably gets voted out by a worse song.

Strangest Tribe is one of the band's simplest songs, but it's executed so damn well. Could be my favorite song that was ever on an Xmas single--it really feels like a winter song.

I'd like to think Strangest Tribe has a chance to win the tournament.

it was not a well chosen phrase. I am less attracted to the hushed, downcast, singing to your shoes quality of the song. I think the songs that make direct eye contact. I think Eddie's best strength as a singer is making something huge also sound intimate--like he's whispering in your ear from the other side of the room. And songs like strangest tribe are not utilizing that strength. It's got other things going for it, but it's not the stuff that gets me excited.

Eddie's second best strength as a singer is only writing the verses to My Father's Son that one time.
