I think hard to imagine is a bit overrated, but it is probably the better song.

Rats is a delightfully weird little funk twitch with some magnificent guitar vocal work.
Hard to Imagine is a half formed song that could have been great

I think the last 2 and half minutes of HTI is truly transcendent. But Rats is just 4 odd minutes of excellent.

It's certainly tough to compare these two. I love HTI's build up and those last couple minutes are definitely too notch. But Rats. It might be one of their most underrated songs. Is it because Ed says Rats a lot and isn't all sad or angry? What a fuckin jam it is. The only Vs. "rocker" I'd put in front of it indefinitely is Go.

Rats has dropped a lot for me since I've heard so many MattCam versions that don't bounce. The studio version is Dave A and Jeff dovetailed as one.

Ask me 5-6 years ago, my answer certainly would've been different...but I've come to be a huge fan of Rats' playfulness and groove. Hard To Imagine has a nice build and some cool, ambiguous lyrics...but I don't seek it out or get excited about it like I do with Rats.

I picked HTI, but I'd be fine with Rats winning this. Rats aged much better than I thought it would. Great groove to it.

Both are actually great showcases for eds voice and range, but hard to imagine is easily a better song for me.

Rats is fine. If have to say its probably in my top ten least listened to PJ songs list though.
Hard to Imagine is a wonderful song.
